There is a place, near and dear to our hearts, that we’ve been longing to share with our gardening community. Before we were digging holes for plants we were digging graves for our community at White Eagle Memorial Preserve in Goldendale, WA. We’re honored to host WEMP cemetery manager Jodie Buller for an evening discussion of natural burial practices, conservation by burial, and the native ecology of eastern Washington and the Rock Creek Canyon on which the cemetery overlooks.

Natural burial at White Eagle is simply the return to what was once standard practice in this country. The goal then and now is the same: allow the body after death to rejoin the elements, to use what remains of a life to regenerate new life.
